Daytime Revolution is an extraordinary film directed by Erik Nelson in which I play a significant part. It documents the unbelievable presence of progressive topics in American daytime television in 1972 when John Lennon and Yoko Ono co-hosted the Mike Douglas Show. I appeared on that show in a section with John, Yoko, and Chuck Berry, in which we discussed and demonstrated biofeedback and brainwave music. I joined a panel discussion after the premiere showing at the LAEMMLE NOHO THEATER on Wednesday, 10/9/24. The film is playing in theaters across the country and is available on Blue Ray. In 1973 a landmark show called Sound Sculpture opened at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The Sounds of Sound Sculpture and its 12-page booklet, now reissued by Art Into Life (Japan), were intended to serve as an annotated audio catalog for that amazing show. John Grayson and I produced this record, with participation on some tracks by my many-decades-long friend and collaborator, great pianist, J.B. Floyd, who had flown out so that we could perform two-piano music at the exhibition opening. Together with John Grayson’s amazing books, Sound Sculpture and Environments of Musical Sculpture You Can Build (A.R.C. Publications, 1975 & 1976), this collection of materials and events offered a major contribution to an important era in the evolution of sound art. My often referenced, participatory brainwave installation, called Vancouver Piece, was in the exhibition and is described in Grayson’s book, Sound Sculpture.
